Throughout my many hours in Diablo 4, I've yet to actually interact with another player, unless you count just happening to be in the same place and completing a World Event together. Of course they're different games, I get that, but it's impossible not to compare the two when Diablo 4's become an persistent online world shared with other players, especially when Diablo's is so lacking in this regard. See, I used to be a hardcore World of Warcraft guy, and as an MMO veteran you have a certain expectation when it comes to the persistent multiplayer component. There are many reasons to sing this game's praises, but among the criticisms that get thrown out from time to time, there's one that really resonates with me, and it's regarding the game's quasi-MMO nature. Diablo 4 launched to tremendous success financially, becoming Blizzard's fastest-selling game of all time, and though every game has its detractors, it's safe to say that its critical reception was pretty solid as well. ![]()
